Landscape Lighting

[ADSENSE_0000000256]Landscape lighting is a great way to add visual interest to an outdoor area at night.  There are a variety of landscape lighting types available for providing different amounts or types of light.  The most common landscape lighting used includes pathway lights, spotlights, and ground lanterns.

Path lights are great for accenting a garden walkway or sidewalk.  They provide light that casts downward onto the path, making it possible to see the walkway at night.  The landscape lighting that walkway lights provide is usually bright enough to light the path, but not so bright that they cause a glare.  Pathway lights come in many sizes, shapes and styles.  Often they can be bought as a matching set.  Solar path lights are a great choice if the walkway receives plenty of sunlight during the day.  Solar walkway lights eliminate the need for electrical work to the lights and make installing the landscape lighting very easy. 

Spotlights are great for accenting or highlighting a landscape feature that is a focal point of your landscaping.  Spotlights are commonly used to showcase a beautiful fountain or an exquisite flower garden.  Spotlights can also be used to bring attention to the beautiful exterior of your house at night when strategically placed. 

Ground lanterns or garden lanterns make a nice addition to your outdoor landscaping, allowing your landscape to be enjoyed day or night.  They help to enhance the beauty of your outdoor area after the sun has gone down by allowing flowers and shrubs to be viewed at nighttime.
